Broadcaster's Unlimited Possibilities

The router-based VADIS DCII console system is a highly proven solution in digital audio integration, not only for broadcast, but also production and live applications.
Designed for individual client needs it is completely modular, with a selection of console modules available in different sizes, including an array of fader modules, push-button modules and source selection modules. The most important operational functionalities can be placed exactly where they are required, so that an operator is provided with a traditional and familiar console surface layout. The actual control surface includes a flat screen, or touch screen version, for metering, clock/timer and transmission path indication. It enables the operator to get an immediate system – or channel related overview – including all channel parameters, EQ and dynamics settings, in addition to source, preset and snapshot management.

The VADIS DCII console can be split into multiple surfaces, ranging in size, without any loss in functionality.

The VADIS fiber-optic audio network on the VADIS DC II control surface provides direct access to the router from any VADIS DCII console. In essence it works as a decentralized master router for the entire studio, placing each frame close to its audio sources, making additional router system unnecessary. Various audio input, output, network and interface cards are available for the frames to provide DSP, such as dynamics, EQ and the mixing of signals. The modular Vadis approach enables individual frames to be interconnected to create a huge fail safe router, capable of switching thousands of channels simultaneously.

The Ethernet based control signals interconnect the consoles to one another in addition to the digital network, and it enabled the operators to place the control surfaces anywhere in the facility, independent of the audio processing and routing backbone. Furthermore, the decentralized layout provides the sharing of technical resources between all of the studios throughout the facility. Once an audio signal is connected to VADIS, it is instantly available anywhere on the system. Sources such as microphones, playout systems, telephone hybrids and codecs, FM/AM and satellite receivers can be accessed from every DCII console, independent from their location, without additional wiring. In comparison to traditional audio cabling, the flexibility of this network also carries huge savings in installation costs.
