DeCennium - Digital Network Console

A company seeing product development from the technical perspective only will fail with its innovation. This statement proves to be true for most technology driven markets including the radio broadcast sector. Of course technical features and functionalities of a mixing console are still the most important purchasing criteria.
Nevertheless other factors, like ergonomics, design, business oriented requirements and especially customer knowledge, increasingly gained competitive advantage. All those criteria mainly influenced the development of Qphonics’s DECENNIUM, a mixing console supporting broadcasters in their familiar way of working in the daily radio business. DECENNIUM is a networkable console, consisting of control surface and separate audio engine to be integrated in audio and control networks.

From the operator’s point of view, a user-friendly console layout is the decisive criteria to feel comfortable with a mixing desk. Therefore we chose a clear and intuitive surface layout with all actuating elements placed on the right position. The DECENNIUM console is extraordinary slim and built in appropriate housings ideal for tabletop installation thus helping to create the best working environment possible. Not going unnoticed, the design gives the console an extraordinary fashionable look that attracts the attention of anyone entering a studio.

High quality components were used to provide an industry compliant and functional console surface. Each button of the console surface is illuminated by LED's and has a dismountable transparent cover to insert individual custom labels. Each channel strip of DECENNIUM’s fader module is equipped with a professional fader, clear and large alphanumeric displays, large ON/OFF buttons with a unique button guard to avoid faulty operation and some additional buttons and indicators.

Via an integrated Central Control Unit which is equipped with rotary encoders and large displays, the monitor and control module offers access to DSP functions, preset- and snapshot management and central parameterization. Extended bus routing is provided, as well as free assignable function keys for any conceivable purposes. The module is also equipped with a pool of monitor buttons that can be individually assigned to four independent monitor channels with AutoCUE and CUE-Split functions. Fully parametric 6-band equalizers and highly sophisticated dynamics with limiter/compressor/expander can be inserted and stored in each channel.

A single fader module can also act as a single mini console without the need of a monitor module making the consoles an ideal gear for journalists or reporters in news rooms.
