Our products range from stand-alone On-Air Mixing Consoles for Radio and TV Stations to complete solution packages including simple to highly complex audio- and control-networking systems. A strong orientation towards innovation, extensive technical knowledge and customer focus form the basis of Qphonics’ high technological standards and have contributed to our excellent reputation: Our customer list reads like the “Who’s Who” in the media industry.
Qphonics’ roots can be traced back to the year 1990, when Thomas Klotz founded the company as a reaction to the moving trend towards digital audio processing. Overall, the last two decades have been very dynamic. Qphonics first made its name in live sound installations before the first broadcast project was realized in 1994. 1996 saw the birth of the first generation of mixing surfaces with an installation at Astro Measat in Kuala Lumpur, followed by a rapid increase in the demand of broadcasting installations.
One highlight that stands out in Qphonics’ history is The Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney. Based on the success of this project, which was accompanied by a rapid increase of the
company’s awareness level, plenty of exciting follow-up projects were realized worldwide. We installed the world’s largest audio router in a broadcast facility at XM Satellite Radio and the most modern evacuation and information system in Terminal 2 of Munich Airport. Further highlights amongst these projects were the system supply to the American Forces Television and Radio Services in California, and more recently, the installation of a complete audio routing system in the Press Briefing Room of the White House.
Since 2001, Qphonics expanded its focus from a sole project-orientated business, to a more product-oriented business. Eventually, this kicked-off the development of a product range combining off-the-shelf products, and tailor-made solutions. We developed new products for the broadcast market, both while maintaining our competitive edge in the market, and easing and enriching customers’ business with new and exciting products.
Qphonics is dedicated to producing the very best and most intelligent digital audio processing and distribution systems, including, control surfaces and routers for all aspects of the professional audio industry. The products and solutions were especially created to be used in any professional public address and broadcast facility. They provide new workflow efficiencies, thus, enabling our customers to benefit from lower installation and operating costs.
Today, we have two product divisions – Digital Audio Technology for the media industry, and Digital Public Address Systems for modern facilities – all of which enjoy great synergy and success in their market segments. The broadcast segment remains Qphonics’s most important market, and we expand and cultivate it with care.
From the beginning Qphonics’s aim was to serve international markets beyond Germany and Europe. Qphonics has a reliable network of partners across various continents. Joining forces we provide local presence and prime customer service within this alliance.
